Policy on good publishing practice in gender equality
The Tecnología, Ciencia y Educación journal, being committed to gender policies that lead to real equality between women and men in our scientific community and in society in general, has a Guide to non-sexist gender-neutral language, where authors can find a series of recommendations for writing their articles with the fundamental right of gender equality in mind.
Furthermore, the journal's editorial policies include specific recommendations for authors of research studies to include, where appropriate, a sex/gender analysis that addresses the relevance of these variables in the research design, methodology, results, and discussion. These recommendations should also ensure that the conclusions of the papers take into account possible sex/gender differences.
Likewise, the journal incorporates a gender perspective in the review of papers and in the evaluation reports. Instructions are included for reviewers to assess whether the research studies include a sex/gender disaggregated analysis and whether its relevance is addressed in the research design, results, discussion, and conclusions.
It should also be noted that our Publishing Board is made up of 39 women and 22 men, including members of the Board of Directors, the Advisory Board and the Scientific Committee, and that more than 40% of the reviewers who evaluate the articles are women.
In addition, this journal includes the full name of the authors of the articles it publishes and, in the excerpt of the research studies, rigorously specifies whether the representative samples of the population analysed include both genders.
